Delhi: Abha ID facility begins at Safdarjung Hospital

New Delhi: The central government-run Safdarjung Hospital starts off the Abha ID scan facility for OPD registration on Tuesday.

After AIIMS Delhi, this is the second government hospital to come up with an Abha ID scanning system. The purpose for this step is to decongest the OPD rush.

Abha ID is a 14 digit number that will uniquely identify the patient as a participant in India’s digital healthcare ecosystem. It can be created using Aadhaar instantaneously.

Using this ID will not only make it easier for patients to register, but their health records will also be safe in DigiLocker. This will make it easy for doctors to access their patients’ details.
