Indore: Second notice to private hospitals for fire NOC details

Indore: Health authorities in district have re-issued notice to private hospitals seeking details of fire No-objection certificate (NOC) from them in seven days.

The authorities were forced to re-issue the notice after private hospitals hadn’t submitted details sought from them.

The private hospitals in Indore were issued directions on August 2 post Jabalpur hospital fire incident to submit details of fire NOC in three days.

The private facilities however opted otherwise forcing health authorities to issue another notice on August 6.

CMHO Dr BS Saitya said, “We have issued second notice to private hospitals giving them seven days time to provide details of fire NOC.”

“The details of hospital running without fire NOC aren’t provided on earlier notice”, said Saitya.

The fire NOC, electricity audit and building permission of hospitals again came to light as around eight persons were killed in a hospital in Jabalpur fire incident.

The state authorities swung into action for damage control with district authorities issuing notices, cancelling permission.

Interestingly, the health authorities in district aren’t aware about details of hospitals with require fire safety NOC.

At the moment, there are around 40 applications pending for renewal of license, over 20 doesn’t get fire NOC, showed records.

Last year in November, around 128 private hospitals were audited for fire safety measures and over 100 were found lacking facilities.
