Sri Lanka schedules two-hour power cut for June 01; daily outages to reduce to one hour

ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka has imposed a two-hour power outage for Wednesday (01), with daily power cuts to be further reduced to one hour in the next few days, Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) Chairman Janaka Ratnayake said.

On June 01, A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V and W areas will have power cuts of two hours and 10 minutes each from 12.00pm to 6.30pm.

The Colombo city area could face a power cut of three hours between 6.00am and 9.00am.

The Board of Investment (BOI) industrial zones in the M, N, O, X, Y and Z areas will lose power for three hours from 5.00am to 8.00am.

On June 02 and June 03, the A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V and W groups will have power cuts of one hour from 2.00pm to 10.00pm.

The Colombo city area could face a power cut of three hours between 6.00am and 9.00am.

The CEB said the supply interruption time and restoration time will vary within 30 minutes as indicated above. (Colombo/May 31/2022)
