Sri Lanka to change GDP base year to 2015

ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka will change the base year for gross domestic product calculations from 2010 to 2015, cabinet spokesman Minister Bandula Gunewardena said.

The Department of Census and Statistics had revised quarterly and annual GDP estimates based on the newer base year.

The cabinet of ministers had given the go ahead to publish the revised GDP numbers.

The 2022 first quarter GDP will be estimated based on the 2015 base year. (Colombo/May31/2022)
