PUNE: TEC, ICAR-IVRI, Pune in collaboration with Livestock Research Station, Navsari Agricultural University, Navsari (Gujarat) recently organized a one-day training programme on “Scientific Practices for Livestock Farming” at Aankhi village of Jambusar taluka.
A Kisan Goshti and an Animal Health Camp at Kava village of Jambusar taluka were also organised under the SCSP Programme.
Dr Vipul R Patel, assistant professor and Head, Department of Animal Nutrition, Veterinary College, Kamdhenu University, Navsari in the technical session spoke on animal nutrition aspects and new technologies to enhance milk production by using appropriate cattle feed.
A Kisan Goshti was also organised in the Kava village. The main discussion point of Kisan Goshti was maintaining of good livestock health for better reproductivity. Fifty-six farmers participated in the Kisan Goshti and benefited from the interaction with experts. Thereafter, the experts visited the residence of individual farmers and inspected their livestock and treated different conditions with medicines, and distributed anthelmintic drugs and mineral mixture to them.
